PSYCHOSOCIAL MENTORSHIP
The Edukasi Psychosocial Mentorship Program was founded to address the pressing need for structured mentorship and psychosocial support among students from under-resourced communities.
Many students from townships and rural areas face significant barriers to education, including lack of career guidance, inadequate access to mental health resources, and limited exposure to professional networks. By leveraging digital spaces and on-the-ground initiatives, the program ensures that no student is left behind due to their socio-economic background.
Within our embrace lies a treasure trove of opportunities, inviting both individuals and groups to embolden our shared mission, weaving transformative threads into the tapestry of those we humbly serve, illuminating paths of experiential education and empowerment, forging futures brimming with possibility, progress and prosperity.
Psychosocial Mentorship

At Edukasi, we understand that a student’s mental state plays a fundamental role in their academic performance. Many young people face socio-economic challenges, pressure to succeed, and emotional struggles that can hinder their learning potential. Our Mental Wellness Support pillar focuses on providing safe spaces for open discussions, stress management techniques, and access to psychological resources. By partnering with mental health professionals, school counselors, and community leaders, we ensure that students have the emotional and psychological stability needed to thrive in their academic journey.

Beyond academics, students must develop essential life skills that empower them to make informed decisions, manage their time effectively, and achieve a well-rounded balance between school and personal life. Our Life Coaching program offers structured mentorship to help students refine their decision-making abilities, develop resilience, and create sustainable personal growth strategies. Through one-on-one mentorship sessions, workshops, and peer-support programs, we assist students in overcoming personal challenges and building a mindset geared toward success.

Expanding Our Reach
To scale our impact, we are currently in the process of recruiting and training 1,000 mentors in the first quarter of 2025. This initiative will significantly expand our mentorship capacity, allowing us to support more students in need and strengthen our mission of creating well-rounded, career-ready individuals.
Edukasi invites students, educators, professionals, and organizations to join us in our mission to reshape mentorship and support systems in education. Whether you are looking for mentorship, want to volunteer as a mentor, or wish to partner with us to expand our reach, your contribution is vital in shaping the future of education in South Africa.
Together, we can create a generation of well-supported, driven, and visionary leaders who are equipped to make meaningful contributions to society.

Edukasi employs a hybrid approach, combining both digital platforms and physical outreach programs to reach students who need support the most. We work closely with schools in under-resourced areas, ensuring that students without access to guidance services can still benefit from our mentorship. Additionally, our online mentorship platform allows students from remote regions to connect with mentors virtually. We identify students in need through partnerships with educators, community organizations, and peer referrals.
Since our inception, Edukasi’s Psychosocial Mentorship Program has expanded its reach across all provinces in South Africa, supporting students from townships, rural communities, and urban centers. We have worked with schools in Lady Frere, Queenstown, Khayelitsha, Philippi, Alexandra, and other regions, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds receive the mentorship they deserve. Through our network of dedicated mentors and volunteers, we have successfully impacted over 350 learners to date, equipping them with the tools to break cycles of disadvantage and reach their full potential.
Our mentorship network comprises over 150 volunteers, including educators, academics, PhD holders, professional life coaches, researchers, activists, and professionals from diverse fields. Many of our mentors are former beneficiaries of similar programs and understand the challenges faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through a structured volunteer mentorship program, these professionals dedicate their time to guiding, coaching, and empowering the next generation.
Education alone is not enough—students need comprehensive support systems that acknowledge their realities and provide practical solutions. Our mentorship model fosters long-term personal and professional growth by addressing mental well-being, life skills, and career development in an integrated manner. By recognizing that education is a well-rounded experience, we strive to produce top-quality, innovative thinkers and leaders who are not only academically competent but also emotionally and socially empowered.
